World leader in natural resources chooses EMEX for new EHS & Sustainability software.

Lausanne, Switzerland, March 30, 2011 – EMEX, the Swiss-based international EHS and Sustainability software group has announced that it has signed an agreement with Kazakhmys PLC, one of the world’s leading natural resources groups to implement its Environmental Health and Safety solution across the group’s operations.

Kazakhmys are pioneers in the pursuit of mining health and safety and have been to the fore in the introduction of innovative roof-support systems to substantially reduce the risks of rock falls and collapse.  The company has also pioneered seismic monitoring systems across their mines enabling them to identify changes in the stress-state of rock caused by mining.

Building on the company’s commitment to worker health and safety, the EMEX software underpins a very real corporate commitment to addressing the specific challenges faced in the mining sector.

 

Key Facts/ Highlights

·         Phase 1 of this project will see the implementation of the Emex Events, Audit & Risk Managements modules. This will provide Kazakhmys with a single centralised database to manage all EHSQ information helping to standardize best practice across its operations, improve reporting, provide real time analysis and help reduce costs.

·         The EMEX workflow platform will also be utilised to automate specific Kazakhmys business process providing early notification of incidents & accidents, automatic report distribution and embedded approval and review procedures.

·         Future phases of this project will see the EMEX Environmental, Carbon Management and Document Management modules being deployed and managed on the EMEX Platform
